« When
her
passion
of
flowers,
either
to
cultivate
or
to
paint
them,
meets
unavoidably
those
of
sea
shores,
she
also
shows
another
aspect;
Summer
offers
her
kids
as
thematic
elements,
little
children
fascinated
by
water

She
paints

creates
colors

an
intensive

« Primarily,
it
is
often
the
color,
a
special
morning
light,
a
sun-ray
that
strikes
a
young
growing
tree.
The
whispering
sound
of
water,
a
breeze,
which
caresses
you
.
everything
shimmers.
There
is
the

« Soft,
dense
and
unctuous,
the
color
draws
and
with
pointillism
it
creates
a
glimmer
on
canvas.
With
a
tactile
sensuality,
Josiane
Riou
settles
in
a
nirvana
of
deep
harmonies,
of
vibrant
color
juxtapositions.
Blaze
of
lights,
sounds
of
wind,
muttering
waters,
stimulating
perfumes
...
everything
contributes
to
the
fact
that
she
entirely
lives
what
she
observes.
In
the
first
instance,
Josiane
Riou
seems
to
be
a
quiet
and
reserved
person.
However,
when
you
start
talking
about
the
universe
of
painting,
she
perks
up.
She
executes
green
colors
which
are
usually
complex
to
adjust,
in
order
that
she
was
always
superior.Passionately,
she
expresses
sublime
chants
of
blue
and
violet
colors.
In
the
strenght
of
contrasts,
she
flares
up
to
her
crimson
seashores
mixed
with
soil
and
opal
pale
green
colors,
pink
and
orange
skys,
mingled
with
mauve
shadows. »

a
journey

a

« Josiane
Riou
proposes
a
colorful
journey
full
of
perfumes,
as
only
this
little
piece
of
land
can
offer
it.
Between
sky
and
sea,
Ouessant
takes
place
in
the
heart
of
emotions.
The
artist
follows
more
and
more
the
way
of
comtemporary
impressionism
and
lets
herself
being
carried
by
the
pigments
of
bright
colors;
the
motion
meets
her
temper.
Thereto,
she
is
using
pointillism,
to
create
the
round
shapes
of
a
rock,
the
grass
ragged
by
the
wind,
the
very

not
often

"Le
Croissant de Lune" exhibits
paintings of Josiane
Riou Her new exhibition "Parfum
d'été" ("Smell
of summer")
in the gallerie "Le
Croissant de Lune",
Josiane Riou shows
her way of catching
summer sunlights.
About thirty paintings
full of flowers, but
also picturing children
at the beach, are
reflecting these precious
moments. By juxtaposing
brush strokes, the
painter realizes an
ambiance with blazing
and intensive colour
compositions. A contrast,
the painter accentuates
with painting her
works on red background
colour.
